How to remove motherboard fan

How do I remove the motherboard chipset fan from my ASUS A8N-SLI Delux?? It appears to be held on by 2 pins

Do I need to remove the motherboard from the case???

Yes, it's held in place with pushpins that "spring open" to secure it once they're in place, so you need to pinch them together from underneath the board and then pull up on it. Use needlenose pliers if you can't do it with your fingers.
