Limelight Networks LLC attempts to connect outbound even before I've opened a browser or anything to 68.142.110.42 and periodically forever after all day long.

It's bugging the h ll out of me, peer guardian blocks outgoing connect attempts but seems like it sometimes locks up my comp with 100% cpu usage.

I think I downloaded this annoyance with Valve/Steam (which I have uninstalled).

Is there a way to get rid of it , aside from re-format, lol ?

I googled Limelight and a mention somewhere indicated Valve/Steam was somehow associated, but I dunno for sure ...

About 2 minutes after boot up, cpu usage goes to 100% for 15 to 30 secs, and peer guardian shows Limelight Ntwrks trying to get out, source = my computer to destination 68.142.110.42

Of course I don't know for sure Limelight is maxxing the cpu, just co-incidence ?

Yes, it's possible I could have other software utilizing Limelight but I don't know which if i do.

Any Video Converter

Novalogic (now un-installed)

Hijack this

Spybot Search/Destroy (now uninstalled)

and another anti ad ware progr I don't remember

All my other software pre-dates this Limelight thing iirc.

At any rate i would like to get rid of Limelight.

This points clearly to domains owned by them where there's a phone number you could call.

There's also email support and live chat.

Phone: +1 602-850-5200

Edit: On that site they list EA as a customer. It's just a guess, but I'd start thinking about games that you've got installed that have in-game ads. I'd be willing to bet that'd be your culprit.

Edit2: Further googling led me to this that points directly to steam.

Reading their site they seem to have a network for large file (media) delivery, not just ads.
