how to remove bfg tech 6600gt OC heatsink

well, i've been trying, in vain, to remove my BFG tech 6600gt OC heatsink to insttall my new zalman vga cooler, but it doesn't come off. it somehow seems REALLY simple to take off, but it just doesn't come out! do i have to pull REALLY hard or osmething??? the plastic clips are really stubborn. am i supposed to compress them on the other side so they can come through?i've searched all over but i can't find any answers. i think i'm obviously missing some sort of important information.

compress them and push them out, use needle nose pliers.

When I took the stock HSF off my card, I use a needlenose pliers to compress the prongs on the plastic screws, then push them out.
