Ditto, I did the same thing. Once you unlock, twist the HSF like a mofo to try to break the seal(but not the HSF retension mechanism:Q) before you pull it up. If you don't break the seal, everything will likely still be fine, but there's less risk if you don't pull up the CPU with the HSF.Originally posted by: Computer MAn
Its very easy but be careful that paste they use on the retail heatsink is very strong. I accidently pulled the cpu right out of the socket with that paste.
