How to reduce national debt - political gambling!

I think this is a viable option to bring in some extra money for local, state, and federal government. Make the lawplaces legal gambling centers! A room near the big hall thingy would be converted to the cage, and there would be teller windows with bookies for placing bets. Just like horseracing! All the politicians would wear brightly colored and numbered uniforms. Referees on the floor. It's a spectator sport already- why not profit on it? Any ideas for how a superbowl might work? Elections... meh.
