Is there anyway I can remove some of these processes that may not be needed in win2k to free up some memory? I got WW2 Online and well that game loves ram. 256mb ram + 300mb swap wasn't enough for just one IE window, the game, and ICQ98 (only takes about 5mb). Had to bump it up to 600mb swap. Anyway, can I get rid of some of these processes? Is there a guide? I tweaked my services.exe down to 1360k with a pretty ill guide. I heard loggin in as power user instead of admin can reduce things up but ICQ, RadeonTweaker, among others can't be run/has problems in anything but admin mode. :(

Upon startup where I only have the volume control and em_exec (mouseware) loaded, I am using 67720k memory.

What are you guys at from bootup?

Thanks.

if you know what processes you DON'T NEED, then go to administrative tools...services

and there you can enable or disable whatever services you want to load on startup.

67MB is real good. I usually start at the low 80s.

But with memory prices costing as much as movie ticket why are you worrying about irt?

Ok thanks for the replies. I had already tweaked my services but I guess there isn't much to do past that. Maybe I'll buy 128mb more ram. It's only about $30. :)
