As I posted here about a week ago, I maintain a small network for a guy. In that post I mentioned how he wanted to be able to fax from Act. I had questions about that and, more importantly, connecting the fax/modem in one of his pc's and effectively get a line out in an office complex.
Anyway, everything is set up and working, save for one little hitch. (Isn't there always "one little hitch?")
The moron password-protected his databases and can't remember what his password is! :disgust: And, everytime you try to fax out from Act, you're prompted for the password.
I lucked out, because he also has Act and the databases -- without a password -- on his laptop. So for now, he can do his faxing off of that. (He'll get started as soon as he finishes writing "I will not forget my password" 5000 times on a whiteboard.)
In the meantime, does anyone know how I can retrieve the lost password? The OS is Win2K Pro and for what it's worth I'm the network Administrator. (I took that away from him after he changed the passwords on some of his workstations -- without telling me -- in order to "make things easier."
