How to recover data after reformatting?

So before I reformatted my HD I burned all my data on a CD, not realizing that all my data was broken down to TWO CDs and I just inserted one CD in the burning process in turn completely losing all the data that was supposed to be burned on the second CD.

So basically I lost it.

Is there a way to recover that data?
I know some people are able to do it.

How did you format?

try running the:
unformat c:
if it was formatted in DOS

Otherwise, try any data recovery software, and as long as you havent tried to use the hdd, then your data should still be recoverable.
DONT WRITE ANYTHING TO THAT HARD DRIVE
