How to record TV programs on computer

I have heard of product out there that you can watch TV on your computer. I would like to record TV programs on my computer and watch them on a DVD player, or from the computer HD. I would also like the ability to record multiple TV shows at the same time.

Any advice as to what to use, what to buy, pros/cons, etc.

I dont even know of or have heard of products that can do this. Thanks.

Get TiVo with TiVo to go. You transfer to your hard drive and can watch them and for more $$ get Sonic software to burn them to DVD. Works pretty well for me.

Highly recommend one of Compro's cards. Below is the direct link to the Gold+ version but the other (cheaper) models will do what you're wanting. The Gold+ allows your computer to auto-boot/auto-shut down for recording purposes. Nice line of products.

Compro Videomate Cards

Newegg carries the $55 Gold+, down to the $32 TV/PVR FM one. Not sure about recording multiple show at once with these but it can do the other stuff as far as I know.
