Sorry for the cross posting but... I want to record a phone call I'm going to make to a .wav file .
How would I go about doing it? It doesn't really have to be a .wav file. Any sound format will do , as long as I can play it back again. TIA

depends what software you have got. My fax software can do it, but if you do record something easiest is hook a tape recorder to it. Make sure you have the other person know that your recording. or your breaking wiretap laws.

Actually, the law says that only one person who is in a phone conversation needs to know it's being taped.

umm...........not in this state

notice how all the companies say that the calls may be taped

you need to tell the person it's being taped

I have a cool little device sitting on my desk right now that's a handset passthrough - Pigtail hooks to the phone base, handset plugs into the other end. A line out connection can then be hooked into your sound card, tape recorder, or whatever.

This is a state to state law, and varies with each state's law. I would check this website as it is a GREAT guide and will tell you which state has what laws and which states require both parties to be informed of the recording.
