I have the latest Thunderbird in WIndows XP Pro.
I imported 6,500 emails from an INBOX from another email account then deleted the INBOX emails from that account.

The mail now appears under an IMAP mail folder in Thunderbird as:

C:\Documents and Settings\JK\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\ta0dlwj8.default\ImapMail\imap.everyone.net

imap.everyone.net was the name of the mail server from which I exported my emails into Thunderbird.

The file name is "INBOX" but without any file extension.
The file size is 212 mB.

I can open and read the file contents with Unicode UTF-8 format but I want to be able to read the emails in the same format as they were read in my email INBOX.

How can I convert the IMAP mail INBOX emails back into a format that I can read in Thunderbird?

Thank you.

There's probably a better way, but try setting up a bogus email account, and copy the data in your imported folder over to the account.
