I found a case of beer in my basement I didn't realize was there. Problem is I don't know how old it is.

THe stamp on the bottom of the bottle says:

3545 B1P 1520

Can anyone help decipher that for me?

Born on date is overrated. Most imported beer don't even have a date. Trust me, beer don't go bad after 3 months. Born on date is a stupid marketing gimmick that Budweiser started and now came back to bite them.

Why don't you open one and taste it. If it taste like shit its a miller beer and needs to be tossed in the trash.

Its not for me but we're having a party tomorrow so I was going to put it out... Maybe I'll just do it and see if anyone complains.

1. Too chicken to try a beer himself
2. Willing to let guests drink possibly skunky beer
3. Willing to let guests drink Miller Lite whether skunky or not
4. Captain aboard the fail boat

If I am not too drunk, I believe it means this: 354 day it was made= Day 354 of 2005 hence the 5 at the end of 3545. So your beer was made on December 27, 2005. Which, by the way was a Tuesday. Its called the Julian Code (with a twist) . Some companies ( Like mine) like to put the year after the day, while most put the year at the front. Obviously you cannot get a day 545 from the code, so it is read the other way.

Buy some beer and serve that first, then serve the stuff you found. By then they won't care if it is expired.
