inspired by this thread: http://forums.anandtech.com/me...id=2065484&STARTPAGE=1

anyone know a good method to reseal a standard plastic bottle cap.. the same kind of cap you get on a 20 oz or 2-liter soda bottle.

here is a picture: http://www.gono.com/museum2003...da%20history/his23.jpg

so the ring which is below the cap.. they are attached by little points which sorta resemble teeth, when you twist the cap off the ring and cap seperate breaking the seal (ie the teeth seperate). anyone know a good method to re-sealing this. or somewhere you can go to buy bottle caps with the ring on them so you can put them on(would that even work?). and if that would work, good way to remove the cap and ring together so you can put it back on?

super glue is a bit obvious, so glue is out of the question

Yup. When I used to drink a lot of the Sam's Choice carbonated water, the ring would come off quite frequently on its own! 1L botles FTW!

Hey! I've got 20 years of sneaking alcohol into the infield of the Kentucky Derby. There's nothing too it. All these complex schemes and it is all solved with a screwdriver.

that and filling your cooler with vodka and ice....when you are in just add punch. Instant party.

sweet, ill try this next time i need it. i was thinking of using pliers to hold the cap and ring at the same time and unscrewing like that, but your method might work better. any other suggestions?

So are you planning on trying to poison someone by making them think their drink is safe?
