I never have problems ( I don't use much software that uses a ton of ram ) but right now is one of those rare exceptions, and my computer is crying in pain

I never see swap file usage but whenever I switch between images I see the hard drive light on :Q

Actually after cropping 10 of them in the gimp I realized how dumb I was being, installed image magick, and cropped/converted them all in a couple of minutes (most of the time was reading the man pages for pngtopnm and whatnot )

I realize you have the winky face and are being at least a little sarcastic - but, the only thing running slow was the gimp, and you can't even see the gimp in that shot (well, only a tiny bit). And slow, yeah, try opening up 62 1600x1200 images in any program
