How to protect myself?

Hey guys,

I was recently offered a very nice price for a laptop I wanted. He told me that he was scammed for $1200 and that his paypal was messed up, so he requested money order. I talked to him online and he gave me his phone #. He also sent various pictures of it and agree that i can pay half now and half after i receive the laptop. He only has 3 rating in heatware and 2 of them were laptops he sold. I was just wondering if there was anyway I could protect myself from getting scammed or should i trust him

Thanks

sorry im a noob. How does ESCROW workk?

eBay has links to reputable escrow services.

But I smell scam.

Either that, or have HIM ship the laptop.

you deposit money at escrow. he sends you laptop. you ok escrow company to pay. he receives money.

Well then how does the seller gets protection from scamming? (not saying the OP will scam but just curious)

If you don't release the laptop the escrow company releases the funds.

orrr go to an ezay shop.. theres one by my house... they'll sell yours tuff for you, and give you da money, or buy stuff with your money (you give them the money and tell them the product)
