How to protect car paint

Any ideas on a material I can put around the fill door to prevent damage from the pump spout? My wife has a tendency to hit the body and scratch the paint. Clear tough film?

Tell her not to hit the car with the spout?

My dad's new car has this clear film around the edges of the door - presumably to protect them - dunno what it's called though.

You could get some of that material they use as a clear Bra and put that around it. Don't know where you can get a small amount though.

You can always get a new wife to prevent the problem, chances are that she will or she is hitting the car with other objects.
You must tell her to care more about the car.

Does she have problems putting items into her purse or taking them out? Just be more careful...There is nothing to prevent this, outside of covering the area around the fill foor with protective paint, or the like.

Most "clear tough films" you will find will be destroyed by gasoline. Either it will eat the material, or destroy the adhesive.

Your only solution is to fix the wife.

DuckTape around gasoline inlet. (Paint tape to match color if needed)...double layer that sucker....wife proof formula guaranteed.

God, females and car paint... oil and water!

In the days before universal key-fob trunk-openers, you used to be able to spot the female-driven cars by looking at the paint around the trunk lock. If it was trashed to shit, you knew a girl drove the car because they seem to have a universal compulsion to slam the trunk shut with the keys still in the lock. I also used to see them open and close car doors with the keys still in the lock.

You also see a lot of used cars for sale where the paint on the bottom of the passenger-side door jam is all chipped up from the girl stomping it with her heels.

Then there's the coffee mugs on the roof, the keys set on the roof or trunk-lid, the automatic car washes, etc.

For a gender so concerned with how it looks to other people, you'd think this concept would be easy for them to grasp...
