I recently had the pleasure of tasting a dish called "cracked conch", It is sliced conch meat, lightly battered and fried, then served with a red pepper glaze.

It is a bit tougher to chew than squid, but delicious!

So how do you pronounce "conch"? like "conk" or "con-ch"?

Where do you buy your conch and how do you cook them?

Geeze, no one else had cracked conch?

It's delicious! Must be a southern thing than, I can't find any place that sells just raw conch.

Remember when abalone used to be cheap? until people started to eat them....

its pronounced konk, kongk, somewhere in there..

Conch is DELICIOUS! It used to be damn cheap too, now it is illegal to fish and catch them in Florida, i think.

Anyway, just batter them up in some crap fry or so, and deep fry them, that's how i've always done it.

I LOVE couch! A lot of real chinese restaurants serve it. It is usually stir fried with snow peas, carrot, etc with some stuffed deep fried tofu. Yum yum! oh and they serve it with some salty smelly shrimp paste sauce, that you American probably wouldn't like. ;)

Crack a hole in the back side of the shell and then take a coat hangar to reem the sucker out. He's probably still alive when you snack on him.
