how to prevent downloads??

Guys..been wondering how I can prevent students to download stuff from the internet. This past days..we've been getting lots of viruses and it's just too much. Also, if anyone of you guys know if there's a way to make .exe files not executable.

You can create profiles that will not allow the user to write to the HD or run executables except for the ones that you allow.
 
use a packetshaper or QoS to restrict FTP to only 1 kbit/sec.

they'll quit downloading in a week or so
