I have installed a bunch of SCSI disk into a Case, I want to use it as an external disk array.
Unfortunetly there's a ATX PSU in that case.

Can I Moddify the standard case power switch to power up the PSU by connecting the switch wires into the PSU connector (for the motheboard)?

Thanks in advances

use an atx power tester, i have one, all you do is plug it into the psu and you can use the on off switch in the back to turn it on and off, i just got it to test a psu. its yours for $13

email me if you want it

you can also power it up by shorting the green wire to any black wire. It can be bad for some PSU's as most need a load of some kind. the tester that danny is speaking of usually has a 25-50 watt load for safety.

Wiring like that would work but he's using an external enclosure so those wires would be a pain. Shouldn't be any danger at all running 8 hard drives as long as you have circulation in there to get rid of all that heat. Wouldn't even hurt to throw a couple case fans in.
