How to Playback HD .TS files

I've got a couple different movies and episodes of Planet Earth in .TS format (not talking about Video_TS). I haven't been able to run them using Video Lan player on my PC.

When I load the video, the slider will begin moving, and the counter will begin counting as if the movie is playing, but there is no video or audio.

I thought maybe the video was corrupt, but I've got a couple different videos and they all behave the same.

Any suggestions on correct software for this type of format? Thanks.

P.S. Computer running them has a 3800+ AMD chip. I believe this should be enough to get at least video performance with a stutter. That's what it's like with WMV HD

why would you post here about obviously illegit content, when the rules which you read say don't do that?

I'm asking about HD content. How can I play it?

Step 1:

Buy Toshiba A2 or PS3

Step 2:

But Planet Earth on Blu-Ray or HDDVD

Step 3:

Connect to HDTV/Monitor

Step 4:

Enjoy

Can you play other .TS files with VLC? If you go into its options, it allows you to select from different engines (e.g. WMP classic, etc.), I've found that some work better than others.

FFDshow and get the matroska plugin. configured it should play in MC. Some people rip their own dvd's and HDdvd's to harddrives in their HTPCs so they dont have to hear the disks spinning or physically change the disk. To assume they are doing something wrong, even if they may well be, is not necessary. If he had indeed said, omg I just Dld some HD Torrents and I cant play them I would like you chide him for breaking the rules.

I understand that that DMCA has superseded the fair use laws of the previous generations, but the line is still somewhat gray on weather its legal or not to make backups of your own disks.

Thanks for the honest replies. I've got my HTPC using zoom player w/ FFDshow for upscaling. I haven't heard of the Matroska plugin though. I'll try to look that up and combine it with FFDshow on MPC.

I've tried VLC settings tweak, but I haven't found anything that works yet. I'll see what I can do tonight.

Thanks again for the tips. Sorry about the sarcasm earlier, I can't help but goad those that are overly righteous
