How to play AC3 audio track of a divx with NVDVD?

BD2003

Lifer
Here is my problem. My favorite DVD player is NVDVD. But the Nvidia AC3 Decoder refuses to work with divx files with AC3 content. It will appear in the properties of windows media player, but there will be no sound, and it will eventually crash.

I could always use the downloaded intervideo audio decoder, but when I do that, I cant get 4-channel downmixing, and since NVDVD refuses to use any other decoder than its own, it wont play any dvds, and I have to install it over again.

I've also got powerdvd and windvd, but I'm not going to install them unless I have to and they can coexist peacefully with nvdvd. All I want is 4channel downmixing for my divxs, since I always rip them with Ac3 tracks.

What to do? Is there any way I can register the powerdvd decoder (does it even work for divxs?) before I watch a divx, and then somehow deregister them and reregister the nvdvd audio decoder again after Im done?
