How to Play a multiplayer Game over the internet behind a Dlink 704 router

Hi, I would like to play Return To Castle Wolfenstein on my computer that is behing a Dlink 704 Router. When i try to connect to get a list of servers, it just keeps saying "connecting to main server.." so i am assuming that it cant reach the "outside". Do i have to change some settings on the router? Thanks.

You need to open up the ports on the router to your computer. I don't know what ports are , but if you go to the game vendor's web site, they usually will list the ports that you ned to open for thier particular game.
