Well, I've never noticed my girlfriend ever wearing any type of perfume, except the trace hint of baby powder from her son, and I'm wondering, does any one know of how I might go about picking a fragrance that match's her pesronality?

Do certain scents match certain women? Like say a strong willed woman might wear fragrance x, or an independant outdoorsy girl might wear fragrance b. Never thought much about that..
Suggestions from either gender appreciated.
I think it's gonna be that I'm trying to pick a fragrance that's readily available, and to me defines, and fits her sepratly from other girls in my life.

It'll be hard to match perfection with perfection, so I figured I'd need to tap into some distributed brain storming.

go with Victoria secret's Divine, my girlfriend absolutely loves it, and she gets complements all the time.

There are certain fragrance sites that help you choose a fragrance based on likes and dislikes, as well as personality traits. Personally, I always seem to end up with the same family of fragrances, so I just go for ones with similar base notes. I think Ashford.com's fragrance section is divided up into types of fragrance, and if I think a little more on it, I can come up with links to other sites that do as well. Right now I have a rotating selection of about seven perfumes, just depending on what I feel like that day, but they are all basically the same underneath.

If she doesn't wear fragrance (or wears so little that you never really smell it), then I'd stick with the "green" based perfumes - most are natural (fruity or plantlike) without being overpowering (too floral or musky) and easy to wear.

Off the top of my head, I would suggest:

Caroline Herrera
Anna Sui (very clean smelling)
Jil Sander (I love this one)
Lutece

I wear:

Mon Ange (very delicate and light, but can only buy it through QVC, ugh)
Sunflowers by Estee Lauder
Pleasures by Estee Lauder
Curve by Liz Claiborne

One more edit - I just bought women's Nautica the other day, and I think it's my current favorite - very fresh and clean smelling, not overpowering or floral, just nice and crisp.

why not take her shopping and play it safe, that way she wears something she likes and not to please you.

yeah, always best to take her with you... fragrances are one of things thats very selective, the sweetest smell to you may be horrid to her... Pleasures is an awesome scent on girls though = ) ... i can pick it up from like a block away = ) ha ha

I'd go shopping around, actually go to a mall and smell the different stuff out there. When you find one that reminds you of her, you've got what you were looking for :)

The problem with perfume is also that because of some sort of bodychemistry it can actually smell different on different people. A perfume that you smelled and loved on one woman may smell totally different on the next person.
Best bet is to take her with you or get her a gift certificate and tell her to pick one :)
