How to pay for college. What options do I have?

Here's the deal, it may be a bit disjointed, but try to bear with me.

I'm totally in love with a college (name omitted to prevent any possible flame wars), and I'd do almost anything to go there. The problem is, tuition is $35,000/yr, and I/my family can only provide $10,000/yr. We don't qualify for financial aid under the school's plan, so I need other options. I've been in close contact with the football coach, and he's told me that he's able to give me a scholarship worth at most $15,000 to (maybe) $20,000 a year. This leaves anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 a year that I need to make up somehow.

What are my options? Work-study is out, because with football and school (I need to make awesome grades to get into medical school later) I won't have the time. I'd really prefer not to take out a student loan.

Another catch is, I'd have to commit to the coach's money this fall, but every other scholarship (non-school affiliated) isn't announced until the spring, and I cant take the coach's money if it's the only money I'll get.

Can you guys/gals help me out?

student loans seem like your only option. You can try for some grants, but i doubt you will get them now. Nothing wrong with loans.

i got a student line of credit.. which is basically another word for loan.

you can always apply for every scholorship you can find, beg on the street, sell drugs, get a job etc. etc.

Personal sponsor?

I'm pretty much in the same situation, but my family has $0 for college, so student loans. I know it sucks, but I haven't seen anything else.

if you're going to med school you will end up in debt at some point any how. Why don't you just start now?

You could whore yourself out to 1000 fat chicks for $50 bucks. Or 50 really fat chicks for $1000 bucks. Hey, fat chicks need lovin' too.

sorry man, I'm in the same boat you are.. I've been working working two jobs and doing contract labor for myself and LOTS of begging and I've managed to pay for two years tuition out of pocket. Of course its killing me, so I'm looking at just taking loans for the next two years and cutting back to one job. After I earn my bachelors in Computer Science with a specialty in Network Security, I'll enter a gov't sponsored program that will pay for my final two years... then I'll have a masters degree and a (pretty much) garaunteed job with the gov't.

65k - 35k = 30k to live on i think most people get by on that just fine so way should other people pay for your college

do what others have said and apply for every scholarship you can find out about. My school was pretty helpful as far as notifying us as to what scholarships are available--we received a "scholarship scoop" page almost weekly with a lot of scholarship we could apply for. You can also look for scholarship directories online, but never pay for any of the services as there are plenty that will list them for you for free (Example: fastweb) I would also suggest getting a job and just saving up money. You WILL need it, even for petty little expenses.

Could also go for one of those deferred service military plans. Have the military pay for your undergrad and/or medical schooling, and then you owe them something like 4-8 years of your life afterwards. But at least you'll be an officer, and will have made some money.
