Check in your game's installation directory, taking my own as the example:
Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2
If you have it on Steam then obviously just check in your "steamapps" folder where it was installed. Look for the "BFBC2Updater" .exe file. Execute it, and a window will open up, it'll check the game's version, and if it isn't up-to-date then it will be automatically updated. If it's already up-to-date then the game will launch automatically.
If it's up-to-date but still ends up closing or you can't play then the missing file(s) are most likely related to Punkbuster, in which case I would recommend looking for the Punkbuster "updater", namely "PBSetup", an executable, here is the link to its web-page:
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php
Once the PBSetup's window opens up you simply have to browse your folder and find the game's own executable, and then proceed to check the Punkbuster version that happens to be installed along the game, if any. If it's not up-to-date then it will automatically update it (and that's a vital part anyway, since if Punkbuster isn't up-to-date even if the rest of the game's files are then you will be kicked out of Punkbuster-protected servers on-line).
Hope it helps.
EDIT: Oh, you have the game from EA's Origin... may God enlighten your path, for you will need guidance through the ordeals to come. I do hope that at least they kept that auto updater executable in the game's installation folder from the digital version from Origin, if not, and if even Punkbuster cannot be updated the "good ol' way" from that PBSetup then it's completely out of my grasp to bring any sort of help, sorry, if that's the case.
