How to Overvolt my FX5200

I would seriously NOT consider overvolting a FX5200, I assume to get a better OC as it's not going to be worth much performance wise (especially as it's only 64-bit memory) and could potentially kill the card if you do too much, unless, of course, you are doing it for fun or practice anyway and don't mind if it dies.

i dont care if it dies....

I even installed a BIG SOCKET A cooler on it and also installed a big ass heatsink over the memory chips.

Can someone pls tell me how to overvolt it?

i have rivatuner....but how do i do it?? I have a copy of the bios. I 've been looking for a program that will make mods to the bios voltage....but nothing.
Do you know how to Do it via Solder Iron

what is it exactly that you are trying to do?
there is not much out there on volt modding 5200s just because most people volt mod do so for performance purposes and those who are performance concious dont buy 5200s.

Cut the power cord off of a lamp or vacuume cleaner. strip the two wires a bit, plug it in, touch one wire to one side of teh GPU, and the other wire directly across and there you have it 😉 Smelsl great this way as well. hehe trust me I've actually done it. Have a flashlight handy for whent he circuit braker trips though.

AFAIK, only the 5900+ series has an onboard voltage controller which allows simple BIOS flashes to be done to up the core voltage. On other cards you have to hardmod them which requires soldering. Not worth the effort IMO for a 5200. Might as well just sell it and pocket whatever cash you can get out of it rather than trying to kill it.

Maybe i didnt make my self clear:disgust:
I meant.......: I already have a 6600. I have this 5200 as a testin subject.

There is no reason to volt mod a 5200 Blah blah blah...... i know.

I just addedd some huge ass Heeatsinks on..... and i dont care if it dies.

SO WILL SOMEONE HELP ME....OR ARE YOU GUYS GONNA FLAME ME A BIT MORE.:lips:

Here's a log to the fire:

If you are complaing about us inquiring as to why you need to do this, even when you are told you can't really do it, and you are quite rude about it, we aren't going to want to help.

And, according to Google, you are one of the only ones who wants to do such a thing, which leads me to think that it is impossible.

We get it, you dont care if you destroy your card because you put a big cooler on it, blah blah blah, you like to break stuff.....Like I said, its stupid and thus none of us have tried or have any expierence in the matter. We were just looking out for you with our post of caution.

Never ment to say anything rude to you guys........

But

CalamitySymphony

No I think he means Over Volt for the pure joy of the SOFS (Smell of Frying Silicon)
