Just curious as to how you would overclock a P4 processor. I know, or suspect, it has something to do with the motherboard BIOS. I have a 2.0 MHz and am curious to see if I can get it up to 2.2, but without any extra cooling. If that's not possible, or wise, that's cool. Imageready and Photoshop have been slowing down on me and someone suggested that as a possible fix. Thanks....

If photoshop just started slowing down, it's because of something else..try defragging, clearing your pagefile, deleting temporary files, etc..
If you still want to overclock though, just raise the front side bus in the bios, usually referred to as "CPU Clock" or similar, it should be 100 or 133..just raise it 1-2 mhz and boot..make sure it's stable and if it is you can try to go higher.

Since the 2.0Ghz P4 has a fsb of 400 (quad pumped 100x4), if you raise your fsb by 10mhz, then you would have a 2.2Ghz processor. The higher you raise it the more unstable it may become and you might have to raise voltages but before you do that, you should ask someone how far to raise settings before maybe harming your machine.

I would do what furor suggested though if Photoshop is starting to slow down since it can be a hog. Try this before overclocking your cpu.
