How to overclock on Biostar Tforce 550 mobo?

This is my first AMD system and I'm trying to read up on overclocking the HTT, CPU, and ram, but in the board's BIOS, there are a few selections I'm not certain of.

First one is called NPT FID control, and I take it it's the CPU multiplier (1x-9x)?

Second is called K8<->SB HT speed, which is supposedly the HTT multiplier (1x-5x)? Does the CPU frequency multiplied by this equal the HTT (should be at or less t han 1ghz?).

Third is Memory Clock Value or Limit. I can choose from DDR400-DDR800. I think default is DDR400 but when I changed it to DDR667 (I have DDR667 now) nothing changed - I use CPU-Z to check my clocks and frequencies. What does this change?

And for the ram frequency, when I overclocked the CPU frequency by 10, the memory frequency AND HTT also increases by 10. Is there a multiplier for memory frequencies? Also, how do I change the memory divider on this board? I can't find any selection to change that value.

So the main problem I'm having is adjusting the memory frequency, since CPU frequency seems to be directly related to memory frequency.
Thanks for any clarification.

You're both correct on the FID and SB HT assumptions.

FID is the CPU multiplier. SB HT is the HTT multiplier, when used with the HTT/FSB, should be less than 1000Mhz for stability.

I have no idea about the memory clock value. 🙁

Those are your RAM divider selections.

Meaning that they don't represent the actual frequency that your RAM is operating at. They're a multiple of your HTT.

Ah! Strange that the first time I changed it CPU-Z didn't detect any change to the frequencies. Thanks for the help.

Just an update, I got my mobo up to 260(x3) but once I increase that to 265 or higher, the internet doesn't work! It boots to Windows fine, but CPU-Z starts having some error and says it'll still load without showing all options. Firefox and IE can't connect the to internet at all. I'm wondering how overclocking can affect the software?

Also, now that my HTT reached 780 with my A64 3000+ at 2340mhz, should I go for a full 1ghz (250x4)HTT but drop my cpu clock to 2250mhz? Or is it possible to leave the cpu speed alone and get to 1040 on the HTT? I read that it should never up above 1ghz but I would like some opinions.

Oh, any CPU multiplier below 8x doesn't show, at least for my board. It reverts to 9x as seen on CPU-Z and dxdiag...
