Doh!! Sorry 'bout that, a little to quick with my clicks:eek:

Anyway, can anyone tell me just how you go about overclocking your video cards? I'm thinking of picking up a Gainward GF3 TI200 after reading aout how easy they are to get TI500 speeds by overclocking. The thing is I've never overclocked my video card. Is this done with software or changing jumpers around or what? Do I need extra cooling to pull it off? Thanks

PS, is there any way to edit/delete a post?

Overclocking Video Cards is done with software.

some Vcard manufacturers supply tweaking software with their bundle, but I think many (most?) users

of NVidia cards prefer to use NVidia's reference drivers (detonatorXP). These drivers do not automatically

enable overclocking features. There are several software utilities available that allow/enable overclocking

of your video card.

For what it's worth, I prefer RivaTuner

PS: the Guru3d is a great site for learning (there are many others too)

It's been awhile since I oc'ed an nVidia card...but here is what I remember.

You need the coolbits registry hack to turn the OC features on in the reference Detonator drivers. You cannot apply the coolbits hack to the WHQL certified drivers though.

YMMV
