I am using an Athlon 700Mhz together with a MSI GeForce 2 MX 32MB card. Recently I formatted my hdd & re-install the GeForce card using the latest driver downloaded from Nvidia. To my surprise the performance instead of increase, it eventually dropped. Using 3dMark 2000, before format I could a score above 4000 but after the format I got score less than 3000. I tried overclocking the core & memory speed but just the same. What could be the problem? Could anyone please tell me how can I get the numbers back up? Is there any websites teaching how to effectively overclock GeForce 2 cards? I really need the speed here but I don't have the budget to get a faster card. Pls help.

You could try powerstrip to overclock your card.

Also check other drivers that could be effecting overall speed. Motherboard drivers, especially if you have a VIA based motherboard. Download the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers.

Create a .reg file from this:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak]
"CoolBits"=dword:00000003

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And merge it with the registry, it allows overclocking your GeForce card from the display properties
