how to output video from a laptop to a vhs tape?

I need to output a video clip from a digital format on a laptop to a vhs cassette tape. I thought there were box-like multimedia devices that, perhaps plugging into a USB port, offered video out/in so I could hook it up to a laptop and export the movie. Any ideas about this or any other way to get the video onto a vhs tape? thx

You could get a scan converter. That's a device that connects between the VGA port of the computer and the video input of a TV or VCR. Prices range from ~$75 on up. Do a forum search for "scan converter" there's tons of posts about them.
