I got a Compaq laptop with video output, but that is for projector (and I
think it will also work for monitor). Now I want to output the display to TV.
Is there any special card for that? or I have to change a new Video card with
TV output?---if that is the truth, what brand is good? Thanks!

If the video out connector is a standard monitor connector then the answer is yes. You would need a device called a scan converter. I think Avermedia makes one (albeit a very unreliable one). There are other companies that make them but I don't know who they are.

There are plenty of scan convertors in the world. You can even buy them at compusa and frys and best buy.

Each laptop is quite a bit different - but mine has two RCA plugs in back for Composite Video IN and OUT which allows the display to be fed to a TV or TV to the laptop. BIOS has settings to make that NTSC or PAL. It also has a monitor port for an external monitor. If you don't have that feature, it is probably available via PCMCIA.
