How to output Coax Digital from my 360

alfa147x

Lifer
I want to be able to hook my 360 to my tx-sr505 with a coax connection because my optical connections are all used up

Also the 505 has passthrough HDMi

Thanks

Hmm I may order one of these with my next order. It'd make my receiver set-up look a little cleaner. I have 3 optical cables and 1 coax cable going into the receiver, but the receiver has 2 optical and 2 coax on the rear, and 1 of each on the front. I'm currently forced to use an optical connection on the front of my receiver and it looks kind of ugly.

Sorry its been a couple of months but this works great no sound loss and my worries are gone nothing was loss it does 5.1 and 7.1 sounds great

I would so buy another if i ever needed on (Um Apple TV ?)

It should work exactly the same as optical, as the signals are identical IIRC.

Exactly, it only converts it from a light stream to an electrical signal.

For some odd reason i had a bad feeling about it

Understandable. I always thought transmitting data by light was a bit magical, myself. 🙂

SPDIF can't pass 7.1, so that's a bit confusing. 🙂

Sure it can, no problems at all. Same with 6.1

Now copy protection BS is another thing.
