how to optimize BitTorrent D/L's

I use the Burst client. Is there any way to optimize download speeds. I've noticed a lot of demos are being served as Torrents now but for whatever reason, I'm only downloading at like 1-2 kb/sec 🙁

Is there any tricks to getting faster downloads are a recommend client that works better than the rest? thanks
 
I use shareaza and it uses the Bit Torrent protocol. I find that is it giving me much faster speeds then the normal Bit Torrent client does.
 
I think it is true that your upload speed determines your download speed. I've tested this on many occasions... before and after my bandwidth was capped (then uncapped) by my ISP. In general, if you upload at > 20KBps, you will see at least that much on your download.
