Hey Folks:

Greetings

I need to open a .PC_DX9 file and see its contents
I guess its a container with a 3D file and its texture.

Any pointers, help, suggestions, advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time people.
if you can please write me mail with your valued leads
Appreciate it.

It appears to be for some game called "Brave: The Video Game." OP, be warned, you can discuss how to interpret the data in a file on your disk, but if this becomes a conversation about how to hack the game it will be locked.

Dear MarkBnj:

Greetings

i dont know,
if what i want to do is considered hacking or
not so hacking or not-hacking at all.

i have a non-IT full-time job, and a 3D hobbyist,
i build 3D aircraft models for fun from 3-View Diagrams/plans/sketches
coz i was a aeromodeller 20 years ago.

i was quite intrigued with seeing the Disney Planes
and wanted to see how they have built the 3D models as cartoons...
Hence the reason to open the file-container .pc_dx9 and view the 3D file & its texture. and build some of my own.....thats about it...

now i dont know if this constitues as a hack. if it is,
then please close the discussion, i am sorry if it did

Please reply if i have violated any terms or not
Thanks

I'm guessing it is a proprietary format. Which application are you referring to?

Dear BrandonB:

Greetings

i use AC3D by Inivis for 3D modelling.
its a rudimentary 3D appllication nowhere like 3D Max or Maya
this was one of the lowest priced legit 3D softare out there.
so got it and it serves my purpose of 3D modelling.
it can open most 3D formats though

now coming to the pc_dx9 format,
its like a .zip, .rar, .iso file i guess
its should contain a set of files packed together

the file i would like to see from this pc_dx9 container is
the 3D file and the BMP file in it
the 3D file can be .3DS, .OBJ, .MAX
the other file can be .BMP, . JPG, . PNG or even SVG.

if you can help please let me know so i can e-mail you the
pc_dx9 file
write to me and i can reply with the file attached

thanks for your help
Appreciate your time

I think you're ok with that, but anyway, the discussion will be judged on its content.

Dear MarkBnj:

Greetings....

you exactly know what i want to do....

gulp, gasp, choke, cough..cough....well, ummm, errrr, actually,
you see, you know...ahem....
can you help?

since you are the Moderator i am sure you know something about this....
or maybe can you give me some leads as to who can help......
hmm??

its just that,
the weekend is coming up and i'll be free,
and i would like to spend time on making the 3D models
hmm??

Thanks for your consideration...
appreciate your time
Regards
Bill

I'm afraid I don't. I have done very little DirectX development, and in any case that file format is likely to be proprietary. Unless someone else has figured it out and posted the results, you're going to have to use basic techniques to figure out the contents, i.e. get out a hex editor and start sniffing through it.

MarkBnj:

Greetings.

like i said i am not an IT person, i just do 3D modelling
and i hv no clue what an Hex editor is...
The only editor i know, is the movie editor
whose name appears in the Credits roll-up
LOL
:whiste:

Any wee bit of pointing help is greatly appreciated
Thanks for your time

My Best
Bill
