How to open a .php file?

Hello. I downloaded PaintShop from a guy's FTP and now I have "download.php" file. What program do I use to open it?

Unfortunately I accidently clicked on wordpad when it asked me "What program do you want to open this file with", and now it goes into wordpad everytime I click on the file. I have even deleted and downloaded again, but it still goes to wordpad.

How can I change what program to open file with?

For that matter, how can I open this .php file to begin with?

Please help!!!!

(mumbles to himself.... rotten lousy .php file..... stupid wordpad..... fvcking computer ):|

Do you know what the original filename is for it? Sometimes admins run scripts to track bandwidth usage or which files are most popular and it would cause something like this to happen. Say you click on "download stuff.zip" and your browser opens it as "action.cgi" in notepad or another text editor. What you should do in this situation is save the file directly to the drive and rename it to "stuff.zip" when it's finished.

Well the original file name was psp503ev.exe It's PaintShopPro.

I don't know why it arrives as a .php file. Not to sound stupid, but I have never even dealt with a .php file. I have no idea what to do now. I don't even what .php stands for.

This is driving me crazy. The download was successful, the file is the right size it was supposed to be, but now it's called "download.php".

*sigh* 🙁
