I have a bunch of these and winrar won't open them. The .sfv and .par2 says those are the correct file names. How I open?

filename.7z.001filename.7z.002
filename.7z.003
filename.7z.004

nope.. you're thinking of r00, r01, r02, etc.. 001, 002, 003 files don't need a rar to finish it up.

I'm pretty sure I've seen some rars that just have .001, 002., etc.

And even if they weren't rars I could still open them with Winrar.

These are split files. .001, .002, .003 can be combined using HJsplit. However, I've found these split files really suck, becaues you lose the extension in general. So if you have xxxx.001, xxxx.002, when you rejoing them, you get xxxx without an extension. So you don't know if it was a split file from a rar, zip, iso, etc. I just usually guess by changing the extension till I get something right.

The best split files to get would be something with xxxx.zip.001, xxxx.zip.002, etc.

We don't talk about newsgroups here.

start winrar and navigate to them, the select the 001 and it will go through and open up all the others to to give you your full iso ;)
