I got x1950Pro (in BestBuy) and it is quiet and not getting hot.
Any info how to OC that card?

In CCC I can change freq for gpu and mem.
I run 2 3dmark06 before and after OC and it showed about 10% increase ...

Would be nice to get atitool works with that card.
Any ideas how to?

at Amazon

The card looks exacly like this HIS x1900GT

go figure if it isn't re-re-branded ATI as x1950Pro
How I can check for the chip # without taking out H/S?

tnx

I was surprised to see the card at BestBuy when I went in yesterday.
So I got one for $299.99
Yeah, I know ... "you can get 7900GTO for $250" ... " twice RAM" ... "faster" .... YES
However, I need ONE slot near silent card.

I wish I can tell how the card OC - if only I know how to OC it ;-)

Cat 6.9 doesn't support the card, so I use Cat and CCC from the CD that comes with the card.
I hope that ATITool and WarDog will catch up with x1950pro soon.
And may be Cat 6.10 will support it.

Overall - this card isn't any slower then x1900GT, but way cooler and almost silent - when PC case is closed I don't hear the card, but I heard x1900GT pretty good.
Now at stock speed it showed almost the same 3dmark06 as x1900GT just a little more.

I thought that the release day is Oct. 17 - isn't it?

Tell me what else I can try with the card and I'll post the results.
No, I'll not put it in microwave or electro-shock it ;-)

I assume this is a PCI-e version of the card?

Who is the manufacturer?

thanks,

John

I think the price will go down to $199.99 soon to make it attractive vs x1900xt or 7950gt or even 7900gto - just IMHO

time will tell.

I have my 30 days price guarantee ;-)

Will anyone be making a 512MB version? That in AGP would be schweet.

PC Partner is generally the manufacturer of ATI brand cards.

Dailytech has it consuming 54 less watts at load compared to a X1900XT. They also have them performing roughly the same.

Yep, the Catalyst 6.10 should make all your problems go away...(including marital problems!)

No, I didn't post the deal on FW, but I posted some sometimes ago ...
I don't think that $299 is DEAL price for that card. $199.99 may be and $149.99 - yes.

p.s. You know how those deal posts work? Some one found something on some other forum and that's how "new" deal comes ;-)

Of course, catalysing relationships since ... 2002?

By the way, according to dailytech, 1950pro is supposed to perform on the level of a x1900xt 256, which means it should be quite a bit faster than a 1900gt

I don't know how they made this up.
It gives me about the same score as it was with x1900GT - that is about 10% below what I had with 7900GT KO OC (580) in 3dmark06

I didn't try x1900xt /256, but I think it would outperform 7900 GT KO OC
So, how it could be the same as x1900xt with 25% less transistors? I don't know.

Looks like I have to wait for Cat 6.10 and ATITool that support x1950Pro before move forward ....

that is only one site's review and i would take it as a grain of salt since it is the only one. i highly doubt it is faster than a X1900XT256 due to it only having 12/36 pipes/shaders. it should be roughly 30% slower than the X1900XT256. but if it is true, then it will be a sweet card. but as of right now, we will have to wait till there are more reviews.

That's not possible. An X1900XT has higher clocks AND more pipelines/pixel shaders (12/36 for the X1950 Pro vs 16/48 on the X1900XT).

I just ordered a Sapphire x1950Pro from Newegg @ $199 for a new system I'm building. Judging from the reviews, it seemed to be just about the best bang for your buck available.
