Hi all,

I have G.SKILL Ares DDR3 1866 (4x8Gb) in Biostar tz77xe3 mb
the best I can do is to select X Profile 1 on stock 1.5V
Any one was able to OC this RAM to 2000? And how?

tnx

have you filled all your dimms ? So you have 32GB ,,,,,,,,,, well I cant say yes you can reach 2000 but you can sure try.

When you take the memory frequency up you have to loosten timings. Like if your default stock is 9.9.9. you gotta change that until your stable take it up like 10 11 10 32 and what not. thx

timings are very important
with that said i'd recommend matching the default timings used for the ares 2133 kit

post your timings (secondaries are important too) and we can give some advice

I think he can reach 2000 but it will crash left and right.

G.SKILL is not the greatest OCer and if you fill your slots 4 dimms you wont be able to even OC. you have to downC ...

Im talking out of experience , with their 1066 I suffered with for 5 years. The most it could OC is 1115 but only 2 sticks. When I added the 3 and 4th stick I could no longer even post with 1115Mhz ,,, so I had to downclock to 935Mhz since all dimms were filled. It wouldnt even do 1066 with all sticks in there. So I went to 2.20v and still same .......

Your gonna run around in circles with this G. SKILL RAM . GL

Why do you want to OC it? you'll never notice any difference between 1866 and higher, outside of benching
