How to OC a 9700 non-pro?

Hey guys, can you tell me how to overclock my Powercolour 9700 video card (ATI Make, just powercolour retail box)?

Whenever i use third party programs, like ATI tray tools to overclock, the system would lock up. And by overclocking i mean raising the values not by tens, but by 1!!! Dare I raise the frequencies by "1", and click "apply" as after a few moments it'll lock up and reboot.

Whats the deal? I know that 9700 non pro is a downclocked 9700 Pro, so all i wanted initially is to raise the core frequency to 325 instead of 270, and maybe raise memory to like 300, is the core overcloxk proves to be successful.

The card works fine, but you know, i'd leave it alone if i could get those 325 mhz! 🙂 Help!

i think its that...u might jus wanna google it instead coz i cant remember if its, omegadrive, omegadriver or omegadrivers.........they provided tweaked ATI drivers based off the official ones at ati, they provide sometimes better performance or better IQ or sometimes both. the guy who does it is well know and does a wicked job

as a plus RadLinker is supplied as part of the drivers along with softmod files, Radlinker is basically a built in overclocking program and it works very well

I have tried both, to no avail. Ati Tool reminds heavily of overclock plug-in of ati tray tools by ray adams. No effect, or rather, same old, same old...
 
You need to flash your bios with one that is un-locked. What brand and speed is your mem?

Go here and pick one of the un-locked 9700non-pro bios's. If your mem speed is not capable of 9700pro speeds, you will have lock-ups and/or corruption after flashing to a pro bios.

So grap one of the un-locked 9700np ones 🙂
 
Infineon 3.3ns memory 🙂

I've just installed Omega drivers and... THE OVERCLOCK worked!!!I've raised the core to 350 mHz, mem to 310 mHz, everything is awesome, and, more importantly, I've scored 16000 3Dmarks (2001SE) as opposed to 13900 I had before 🙂)))) THanks to all who assisted, go and click that Omega drivers' dude link, i've done so like 10 times already 🙂)))
 
That 3DChipset.com website (the one that has BIOS you're referring to) keeps redirecting me to the main page whenever i try to dd/l something.
 
i'm surprised you are able to get 310MHz out of that crappy 3.3ns infineon with-out heatsinks. That stuff is crap 🙁

people at rage3d told me the highest id probably get is 330... 😀 but i got this card from the forums... and im not complaining that it went to 340... 😀
