Might not be possible. I have Realtek ALC888 and for some reason, even when I select in the options for it to mute the speakers when headphones are inserted, it doesn't. I always figured it was some bug w/the drivers. If so, maybe newer ones have fixed it, so try downloading the latest version from Realtek's site.

yea i gave up on that. my Audigy 2 ZS platinum with front panel bay works fine so i switched back.
my conclusion after testing Audigy 2 zs vs Realtek ALC889

Audigy 2 wins in sound quality, and connectivity

mp3's: audigy 2 > alc889, alc889 had hissing sounds and couldn't figure out how to get rid of it
dvd's: didn't test enough, sounded similar
gaming: audigy 2 > alc889, explosions and gun shots sounded much more pronounced, instead of the flat sound from the alc889.

*speakers used: M-Audio LX4

note: could not get speakers to mute when headphones were plugged into front panel of case
