How to move hiberfil.sys

Hi, on my laptop I have split my 40 GB hd into two parts, one is 5 GB the other is 35 GB, this makes it easier to ghost (the 5GB contains all essential apps and OS) but now I'm running close to the end of that 5GB and i'd like to clean up 512 MB by moving the hiberfil.sys (hibernation file) to the D partititon of the drive. But I do not know if this is possible, if anyone knows how to change the location of where windows writes it's hibernation, let me know.

Thanks in advance, Boran.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe you can.

The hiberfil.sys is always located in the root of the system partition. This is where ntldr looks for it at boot. If you are running a dual boot then hiberfil.sys simply contains an arc path pointing to where the hiberfile.sys is located for that particular operating system. Short of manually editing hiberfile.sys I don't think so.

Edit: this is from memory, I didn't to any hardcore research for ya. You could dig in the KBs for keyword hiberfile and see what you find.
