How to mount a Hard disk drive in a new case

This is a question about mounting a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) in a new Antec Case. I am a new builder.

There is gap on each side of the HDD. The bundled screws are not long enough to mount the HDD to the rack. The bundled screws are useless in securing the HDD in the case. None of them fit.

Additionally, each bay in the rack has rubber feet which slightly raise the level of the HDD's screw mounting points in relation to the screw mounting points on the case. Even if the bundled screw fit the horizontal plane between the HDD and the case is not level.

See photos of my new PC for details.

Both HDD are Internal 3.5" drives.

Please help me understand how to secure Hard disk drives in the case.
Are extra brackets necessary to secure the Hard disk drive (HDD) in the case?
The HDD does not fit properly into the case without screws.
Thank you.

I'm confused. The pictures at the bottom show the HDD with spring clip side rails mounted. Thus assembled, they should slide right in and snap into place. They are not scred to the drive bar. This makes pulling drives out and putting them in very easy.

Are you saying that with the side clips in place, the bay is still too wide?

Thank you for reply.

Please help me understand.
Is the HDD supposed to be installed without being screws into the spring clip rails?

The HDD just sits on top of rubber feet within the the rail

The bundled screws do not fit and the
HDD is not on level horizontal plane with screw mounting points of the rail because it is elevated by circular white rubber feet.

The Hdd cannot be held in place by a screw on the left or right side in Spring clip rail.

The spring clip rail, lock into place inside the rack unit of the case.

Please help. Thank you.

see the two screw holes on either side? http://pucho.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=2742
i think he is wanting to attach the hard drive those those, but the gap is too wide

Yes that is right,
There is large gap between screw holes on lsft and right of HDD.

Is that the proper way to mount HDD in Antec cases?

the screws should go into the bottom of the hard drives. There are 4 mounting holes that will go through the bottom of the hard drive tray into mounting screw holes in the bottom of the drive.

also the grommets are there to help silence vibration. be careful not to overtighten these screws as they will begin to crush the rubber. the screws will not lock, you will have to use your own judgement as to how much to tighten them.

the screws for the hard drive have a wide head, the same width as the rubber grommet. they should be about .75 or so inches long with about 1/3 of it being threaded for the drive if i recall correctly.
