How to monitor NF4 chipset temperature?

I currently have an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. My original chipset fan failed so I replaced it with a Swiftech MCX159-R. After doing a good job on installing the chipset heatsink, I noticed that my temps from Asus probe have not changed. Is it really true that the NF4 does not have an internal temperature diode?!?

Pretty much. I replaced the heatsink on my Asus A8N-E with the same thing, and nothing's changed. I've heard that the probe is actually an inch or so away from the NB, so it's useless as a gauge for that specific chip, but it might be useful as a case/system temp.
