Hi guys,

I've been trying all week to get this feature to work under windows 10 but cannot do it. My goal is to use my desktop pc as a primary server/media center. The desktop pc is connected to my TV via HDMI (easypeezy). Now, I've been researching online that I can mirror my desktop to a laptop wirelessly using Windows 10. Both my PC and Laptop have Windows 10 pro installed and activated.

I want to do this so that I can use the laptop as an extended display to browse files and media while the main TV connected to the desktop plays the video. So when friends come over, we can do Karaoke without affecting the main screen.

When I try to connect to my laptop, it won't show up on my desktop's menu. Which is strange because I can browse the shared network folder on the laptop from the desktop without issues. The homegroup is setup to share between the two and that seems to work fine.

The other thing I noticed is that my desktop allows me to "Project to this PC" with a number of options for the 2nd monitor, such as duplicate, or extend. The Laptop doesn't provide me with this option and when I go into the settings, it's grayed out under the "Project to this PC" list. It also says "we are still trying to determine the feature capabilities."

Is it possible that this laptop doesn't have the needed hardware for it?

It's a toshiba satellite P75-A7200 (i7 4700 cpu).
Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

What this user did on Youtube is what I wanted.

Are you trying to control the desktop from the laptop? I would just install TeamViewer. It's free for home use.
