How to measure temps with a Cel 566 and Abit BX6-2

Where can I get a flat thermister similiar to the one that comes with the Abit BX6 boards. Mine died when I was replacing my CPU. I have tried the Radio Shack thermisters, but there is no way to get them close to the CPU. Does anyone have experience adding a thermister to a Coppermine or Cel 566 where the chip is so small?

*looks around to see if anyone is listening...* You can call Abit and tell them that you never got one and they'll send you one for free. :)

Otherwise, go to Radiosmack and get yourself a thermistor. Then just attach it to 2 wires and connect it to the same place.

I got one at NECX many months ago when they had free shipping. It cost me $2.95 for a flat style thermistor with 2 pin connector on a pigtail. However, your BX6R2 may be able to read the CPU thermal diode directly. This gives a much better measure of the CPU heat and cooling. I'm using Motherboard Monitor Version4. WinBond2 - P2 Thermal Diode as the selected reading. (unfortunately, not all BX6R2 came with the proper circuitry to read the CPU diode info, so it may not work for you.) Lark
