How to make yourself fall asleep?

Having one of those nights myself as well. I usually take a hot shower and that puts me down but not tonight. 🙁

Guess I'm going to have to stay up all morning and get in a nap at noon or so for an hour and then go to sleep at 8:00. :/

When that happens to me I just do some pushups and stay up an extra couple hours.

Why waste time sitting in the bed doing nothing.

Take a warm shower, have some hot, mellow-flavored, non-cafinated tea, and try watching a slow, long boring movie like 12 Monkeys or something?

i've worked for 6hrs, then worked again for 4 hrs, then i went running for 45mins about half an hour ago. came back hella tired.
and even though i am tired, i cant fall asleep. fvking sucks.

Can't 'make' yourself go to sleep... pretend you're your cat. Although, gherk jerkin' and CSPAN aren't bad ideas, try a combo thing there!

I work very odd hours and thus my sleep times vary greatly.

Sometimes when I try to sleep I notice that my face/body is very tense, such as frowned eyebrows etc.

I just concentrate and try to relax my entire body..starting with my face. It's easier said than done for me

But if I have allot on my mind I have to try visually imagine a ball or any other shape spinning, this with the relaxation usually does it for me

relieve urself in a bucket by ur bed... then immediately cover urself with the blanket and close eyes

Ambient sounds help me sleep sometimes. Maybe open a window, or play the radio on a very low volume. I heard excercising in the morning rather than during the evening will help you fall asleep easier.

I start with my hands and feet and finish with my face when it comes to relaxation. Works nearly every time. I keep some classic lit near the bed for those very odd times when I can't quite get there.

Mind your daytime habits too. Caffeine will keep you awake, right? I don't drink coffee or other caffenated stuff after lunch unless I'm gonna flop to sleep right then.

finally, excercise in the morning if you can. I'm writing this at about 4:45 a.m. just before I go to the gym. Make the body tired that way when it's bed time, you will drop like a rock and sleep for a solid 8.
