How to make XP Home welcome screen auto prompt for password?

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to make the welcome screen automatically display the password input box. When my new machine boots the welcome screen shows my username with an icon next to it and you have to click that to get the password input box to appear.

My old machine would display the input box automatically and I would like to get this one to do the same thing.

Thanks,
BGC

I do what doan said. There is a way to get the "classic" prompt, I've seen the checkbox somewhere in the innards of Windows, but it's unnecessary imo.

Edit: Control Panel>User Accounts>uncheck Use the Welcome Screen

I like to Tab-Tab to get to the password prompt.

You can disable the welcome screen as DrZDO suggests, or also hit ctrl-alt-del twice in a row to get the standard login prompt on a one-time basis.

My old system was the original XP with service packs applied. The new system is XP SP2 from disc, don't know if that matters.

If you disable the welcome screen you can get a regular user/password input box but I just wanted to figure out how to get the welcome screen to show the input box without clicking or keying anything as the old system did.

Thanks for the tips,
BGC
