How to make winxp stop changing my folder type...

Hello, so I have a shared folder for stuff music from P2P. I like to have the folder organized by date modified; however, every so often, windows makes the folder specific for audio which does not allow for the option of sorting my date modified. When I right click and click customize this folder, anyway I set it, it still doesn't let me sort by date modified. Anyone know how to fix this?
 
Try this:

Right click on the folder
Properties --> Customize
In the first dropdown, select "Documents (for any file type)"
Probably want to select "also apply this template to all subfolders"; your call
Now go into the folder and redo your folder options in Tools -> Folder Options
And finally, adjust your sort column
