On the main box, I am part of a network and can see the local network as well as access the internet...

I have created a VMWare session with WIN/2K, but cannot access the network or internet...

Does anyone know how to do this?

hopefully you've figured this out since it's been 2 weeks....

but if not; choose "bridged" as your network connection type on your network device
(double-click "NIC1" (probably) and then you'll see choices.. pick 'bridged')

Greets,

Yes, the answer was bridged...I'm not sure if for the 0, 1, or 8 device.... but I did call my internal support to verify I was setting it up correctly.... they told me "you can't mess it up, don't worry experiment".
Since they were too lazy to come down, I experimented and got it to work. This was the friday before the Republic National Convention in New York.

By the way I work in Madison Square Garden and the building was closed except for essential personnel.

Well, somehow, the DHCP server within VMWare was turned on (probably my mistake), and was knocking computers around me off the network, since now my box was assigning the IPs. Since the building was closed, it took 1/2 a day to figure out what was causing the issue on the network, another few hours to get into the building, another few hours to figure out where my box was located and to try and shut it down.

Since the box was locked, all they could do was turn off the bbox so that I couldn't assign anymore IPs.

Funny thing is I told them I didn't know about the program, and they couldn't give me the whopping 2 minutes it needed to set it up.

Figured I'd share this story in hopes to make some of you laugh.
